Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna

The Coordinating Beneficiary is the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, one of the most active Italian universities for competitive research funding at national and EU level. The Coordinating Beneficiary will employ three operative units, having complementary expertise. The researchers of the Dipartimento di Scienze Biologiche, Geologiche e Ambientali (BiGeA) have a long year experience on flowering plants pollination ecology. The staff at the Dipartimento di Scienze Agrarie (DipSA) is expert in insect taxonomy and ecology, and in the management of plant-pollinator systems. The Botanical Garden, a very ancient and consolidated institution, hosts an educational unit (“Aula Didattica”) that provides assistance and guide to some hundred school classes every year; the staff of gardeners is fully qualified to establish and maintain a plant nursery.
